Lisa Black has worked at the Chicago Tribune as a general assignment reporter since 1996, and was previously a reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in Texas. She enjoys writing human interest stories, and is always looking for quirky tales that solve a mystery or make people laugh. She has a passion for writing about people who rise above extraordinary circumstances or bring joy to otherwise mundane tasks in life, but she also likes to bring down the occasional bad guy. Black graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor's degree in communications, and has taken graduate courses at Domincan University.
